My 9/11 story

The 1st song I ever wrote at age 16 I wrote for the 5th anniversary of 9/11. While I may not have lost anyone in the attacks, 9/11 holds an important place in my life because the stories I heard and finally understood once I was mature enough to process what had happened moved me to write a song for the first time. “Dust Angels” is inspired by a true story about a boy in a nearby town who was born immediately after the attacks and, sadly, never got to meet his father. He releases a balloon with a note tied to it into the sky every year to communicate and bond with him.
